Claudia Mikeliunas

I have been working on childcare for almost my entire life, and for the last 26 years at my family childcare. I was born in Uruguay, so I am fluent in both Spanish and English and I speak French as well.
My three children were part of my childcare program and that was the reason to open up my program. I wanted to be with them and at the same time to have a job. Little did I know how much I would enjoy this profession and when my children moved into the school system I decided to enroll back in college. It took me several years and thanks to MSDE scholarship, I obtained a bachelor's in early childhood education.
During all these years, I evolved, changed, adapted and mostly never lost the passion for the children and for learning more. I work mostly with the community and enjoy seeing my former students around the neighborhood.
For the last couple of years, I have been teaching noncredit classes at Montgomery College and discovered another passion: helping educators to grow and to learn more skills in their professional lives.
