Brenda Velez-Jimenez

My name is Brenda Velez-Jimenez. I am forty-five years old and I have two boys, ten and twenty-two. I opened my daycare in October of 2015 in order to be able to spend more time at home with my children. I have over thirty-five years of experience with children, from babysitting when I was twelve years old, volunteering at school activities, and raising my own. ​I have over twenty-five years of experience working with children who have special needs. I have extensive experience working with children with non-verbal and cognitive delays. I teach children in my care sign language as it is one of the gateways to communication while developing language skills and expressive emotional skills. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management, I am MD Excels certified at a level four, credentialed at a level four, and I am currently working on my second Masters Degree in Special Education.
