Erin Mullinix

COZY COTTAGE CHILDCARE was established as a licensed family child care program in 2005. For twenty years I have been welcoming children into a family-like atmosphere where children learn through play and hands on developmentally appropriate experiences. All children come with different backgrounds and life experiences and are welcomed into our program.
Prior to family child care I was an elementary teacher of grades Kindergarten through Third. I taught for 11 years before staying home with my own children and opening my educational program.

My goal is to develop a lifelong love of learning in each child that comes through my program. I utilize a research-based curriculum which is flexible and everchanging to meet the needs of the children and their interests. I focus on problem solving and critical thinking skills within my program. I also have a strong focus on promoting the enjoyment of reading! I house a LITTLE FREE LIBRARY in my front yard at COZY COTTAGE CHILDCARE and the children help serve as stewards of the library.
My education is a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Frostburg State University. I continued on taking classes in Administration and Supervision to begin my Graduate degree also at Frostburg State University.
I improve my program and what I can offer families by continually taking trainings and classes on topics of current research, safety and topics of interest to meet the needs of my students.
I am excited to enter Year 3 with the ASPIRE Program and I am proud to offer public PreK to those in my community.
