Tigger’s Treehouse – A Place for Me is where children of all abilities, languages and cultural backgrounds are provided highly inclusive quality PreK and childcare in a family home setting with individualized care based on each child’s needs. Learning will be guided by the children in a developmentally appropriate play-based and responsive environment to the children’s interests and a special focus on social emotional developmental skills. Children will acquire school readiness skills and together they will grow and develop relationships strengthening their confidence for the future.

With a background in Psychology and Early Childhood Education, I am currently working on my teaching certification for PreK to 3rd grade. I have over thirty-five years of experience working with children and individuals with disabilities. Prior to family child care, I was an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant in Baltimore City for 13 years where I collaborated with child care providers when children were identified as having difficulty or developmental concerns to ensure they were maintained in their current setting eliminating expulsion from care.

In addition to myself, the staff at Tigger's have training in areas such as behavioral support and different disabilities. All three of them are Family Child Care Teacher qualified. This allows us to have a low ratio with the children in our care and allows us to provide the individualization needed. Currently we service children with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disabilities, G-tube feed, non-verbal and non-ambulatory. Together with parents and children we make up a large child care community who celebrates uniqueness and family.
