Bio

Gloria’s Child Care Learning And The Alliance Aspire Pre-K Program of Maryland was established in May 2006. Owned and directed by Mrs. Gloria L. Riddick-Haney, the center has been a trusted part of the Essex community for 19 years, operating under the Maryland State Department of Education. For the past 3 ½ years, we have proudly been a part of The Alliance Aspire Pre-K Program of Maryland, offering high-quality preschool education for eligible children ages 3–5 years old.

We are a Maryland EXCELS Level 4+ program, dedicated to excellence in early childhood education. Our preschool operates Monday through Friday from 8:45 AM to 3:30 PM, providing a structured 6 ½-hour school day using the Creative Curriculum to support developmentally appropriate learning. The Aspire Pre-K Program runs from September through June, following a 180-day school year, ensuring eligible children receive a full, enriching preschool experience.

At Gloria’s Child Care Learning And The Alliance Aspire Pre-K Program of Maryland, we believe that every child deserves a strong foundation built on love, learning, and exploration. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that children learn best through play, hands-on experiences, and meaningful interactions.

We are committed to:
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children feel valued and respected.
• Encouraging curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking through engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Supporting each child’s social-emotional growth and self-confidence.
• Partnering with families to ensure a collaborative approach to early childhood education.
• Preparing children for lifelong learning by fostering independence and a love for knowledge.

Through our dedication to quality education and care, we strive to be a trusted partner in each child’s early learning journey, helping them develop the skills needed for future success.
