Monica Pino-Thompson

I have had my own child care since 2007. I have an Associates' degree in Early Childhood Development.My husband and co-provider has a Master's degree in Spanish Education and a teaching certificate for Pre-K through 3rd grade. We do this work because we know that 90% of a child's brain is formed by the age of 5 years, so this is the most crucial period in human development.

We use a child-centered approach, letting children handle as much responsibility for daily tasks and for their education as possible, within an age-appropriate framework of daily structured learning inquiries and experiences.We work mostly with English Language Learners, and our goal for every child we receive is to see that they are as cognitively, linguistically, and socio-emotionally prepared for kindergarten as possible.

We are going into our 4th year in the ASPIRE program, and we are very pleased and proud to have their support.With ASPIRE, we can offer a very high level of Pre-K instruction.to the families we serve.
