Jennifer Pickens

From an early age, I always aspired to be a teacher. My professional journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, concentrating in Broadcast Management, and a minor in Business. This led to an exciting role as an on-air radio personality for a local country music station. However, my path took a significant turn after the birth of my first child when I became a licensed childcare provider.
During my maternity leave with my second child, I opened my childcare business and quickly realized that teaching was my true passion. Following the birth of my third child, I decided to pursue this passion further and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching. I obtained certification to teach from Early Childhood through Middle School.
I spent two years working within the school system, where I discovered that I could make a significant impact by returning to my childcare business with a specialized focus on preschool education. Throughout my teaching career, I kept my business open, providing schooling for children during the summer months. This dual experience enriched my understanding and ability to foster early childhood development.
My dedication to continuous learning and growth is reflected in my participation with Aspire, an organization that has greatly contributed to my professional development. I am deeply committed to nurturing young minds and creating a positive, educational environment for preschoolers.
