Bio
I have been in the field of education for 27+ years. I attained my Bachelors of Science Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I Started my career in education teaching in Prince Georges County Public Schools as a third grade and fourth grade teacher for 10 years. I have been the owner and director of my Childcare for 15 years now where I continue to be a reflective learner to stay current on policies and best practices.

My philosophy surrounds that of nature and nurture which focuses on providing a caring environment that meets the basic needs of each child in order to foster growth. As an educator, modeling behaviors for them helps lead each learner through new experiences. Every child is a unique individual, deserving of respect, nurturing, and guidance. Positive and supportive interactions are used while the children are learning to help them assume responsibility for their actions. This guidance is consistent and directs the children towards responsible behavior, and acceptable expressions of their feelings.

The most beneficial part of their learning is when I am able to tap into a child's strengths and how they best learn naturally in order to help them gain information about the world around them. Ultimately the goal is to strive to help children develop lifelong skills and a love for learning!
