Jennifer Nicholls

I am a family child care provider in Montgomery county Maryland. I have been a home-based educator for the past 10 years. I serve children 2-5 years old. I have a bachelor's degree in child development and a Master's in Early childhood education. I am P3 certified to teach in the state of Maryland. I participate in my state’s quality rating system, Excels, at level 5 and am nationally accredited with NAFCC. I run two grant programs, PreK expansion which provides free PreK to eligible 3 and 4 year olds as well as the Equicare grant for toddlers. I also sit on our local family child care associations’ board as Treasurer. I recently published my first children’s book called “Sofia is a Super Friend”, which teaches children how to solve problems and emotionally regulate. I am a MECLP Fellow with UMBC. I am a part of the inaugural cohort of WeVision EarlyEd Learning Solutions Lab Sites in partnership with the Bainum Family Foundation. I am passionate about early care and education especially when it comes to affordability, equity, and fair compensation for the workforce.
