Donna Majors

I have worked in early childhood education for over 20 years. Of those the last 10 years have been in family childcare. I have my bachelor's degree in early childhood education. Of the many trainings I have taken I am CPR, FIRST AIDE and Medication Administration certified. My Pre-k thru 3rd grade teaching certification acknowledges my knowledge and experience in working with children with special needs.
My lifelong love of learning has greatly impacted my desire to work in early childhood education. I understand the tremendous benefit of encouraging and guiding children to learn through play. By providing meaningful opportunities children are able to explore the world around and retain experiences that remain throughout their lives.
The relationships that are established in a family childcare environment are tremendously impactful. My journey into family childcare was greatly influenced by my experiences as a mother who needed childcare. I saw and understood the need for quality programs that truly care about the children and families in my community. I know and understand how important it is to show children that learning can be fun, how to feel confident in themselves, as well as identifying and understanding the feelings of themselves and those around them. Children who start school confident and with a love of learning are more likely to excel throughout school.
In my program I care for and educate future leaders. It is my honor and privilege to mold the minds of children and help them as well as their families build confidence to take on the world.
